The Woot and Wye Show: Week 10 Moneyball

By fantasystars on November 11, 2016

Every single Week the crew at The Woot and Wye Show, Australia’s #1 NFL podcast, do a NFL Daily Fantasy Football podcast for Moneyball.com.au. The normally thirty minute program looks at the best start, sits and contrarian plays of the week at all the major positions.

In Week 10, Josh Wye is again joined by Mitch Doyle and they both agree that David Johnson is an absolute must start this week in all Daily Fantasy Formats. Johnson is a chance to break yardage records against a historically awful 49ers run defense. Johnson went for 185 all purpose yards and two touchdowns the last time they met. That 49ers defense has since lost Arik Armstead and Johnson will have Carson Palmer under center instead of Drew Stanton. PLAY PLAY PLAY.

Rishard Matthews & JJ Nelson were mentioned as two under the radar (and cheap!) contrarian plays at the wide receiver position this week. Both are coming off strong games and have favourable match ups at their Moneyball salary.

Listen to the podcast below to hear their other start, sits and contrarian plays for Week 10 on Moneyball.

The Woot and Wye Show’s Week 9 NFL Preview

By fantasystars on November 6, 2016

The Woot and Wye Show: Episode 156 – Matty Ice, Mighty Mike & Week 9 Preview.

Woot and Wye kick off the 156th episode by talking some baseball and in particular The Chicago Cubs historic victory and somehow wind up discussing a former school mate’s upcoming appearance on the Channel 7 programme “First Dates.”

After some hot takes on dating programmes and a lengthy discussion on bindii’s they get to some NFL news and in particular the departure of Norv Turner from the Minnesota Vikings. Woot questions Norv’s motivations behind the move while Wye sees it as an opportunity for new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur to get the offense back on track by using their tight end’s more.

They then turn their attention to Matty Ryan’s dominant performance in Atlanta’s comprehensive Thursday night football victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Matty Ice’s current Yards Per Attempt (YPA) of 9.55 for the season puts him in elite company. Only 2011 Aaron Rodgers (9.73) & 2000 Kurt Warner (10.63) have had a higher YPA thru 9 games since 1950 (min. 200 attempts).

The majority of the episode, though, is discussing the Week 9 NFL Lines. Game by game they go through the strengths and weaknesses of the teams before pointing out the key match up. The Sunday Night Football fixture between the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders is declared the game of the week as it sees the offensive line allowing the fewest sacks and quarterback hits in the NFL against the defensive line that leads the league in sacks and quarterback hits.

Woot and Wye conclude the show by giving their “Locks of the Week” brought to you by William Hill Australia.

The Woot and Wye Show: Week 9 Moneyball

By fantasystars on November 5, 2016

Every single Week the crew at The Woot and Wye Show, Australia’s #1 NFL podcast, do a NFL Daily Fantasy Football podcast for Moneyball.com.au. The normally thirty minute program looks at the best start, sits and contrarian plays of the week at all the major positions.

In Week 9, Josh Wye is rejoined yet again by fantasy enthusiast Mitch Doyle (the pair have always cashed in when they appear on the podcast together) to dissect the DFS landscape for Week 9 in the NFL. With Arizona, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, New England, Washington all on bye, the options are fairly limited.

Listen to the episode to find out why Doyle is falling for Foles and not kneeling for Kaepernick or how Wye wants to make America Brate Again.
