The Woot and Wye Show: Episode 156 – Matty Ice, Mighty Mike & Week 9 Preview.
Woot and Wye kick off the 156th episode by talking some baseball and in particular The Chicago Cubs historic victory and somehow wind up discussing a former school mate’s upcoming appearance on the Channel 7 programme “First Dates.”
After some hot takes on dating programmes and a lengthy discussion on bindii’s they get to some NFL news and in particular the departure of Norv Turner from the Minnesota Vikings. Woot questions Norv’s motivations behind the move while Wye sees it as an opportunity for new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur to get the offense back on track by using their tight end’s more.

They then turn their attention to Matty Ryan’s dominant performance in Atlanta’s comprehensive Thursday night football victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Matty Ice’s current Yards Per Attempt (YPA) of 9.55 for the season puts him in elite company. Only 2011 Aaron Rodgers (9.73) & 2000 Kurt Warner (10.63) have had a higher YPA thru 9 games since 1950 (min. 200 attempts).
The majority of the episode, though, is discussing the Week 9 NFL Lines. Game by game they go through the strengths and weaknesses of the teams before pointing out the key match up. The Sunday Night Football fixture between the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders is declared the game of the week as it sees the offensive line allowing the fewest sacks and quarterback hits in the NFL against the defensive line that leads the league in sacks and quarterback hits.
Woot and Wye conclude the show by giving their “Locks of the Week” brought to you by William Hill Australia.
