Fresh from Fantasy Stars: Our Moneyball NBA thoughts for Wednesday the 9th March.
Overall thoughts on the slate of games
Interesting bunch of games, San Antonio will be fired up after a poor showing against Indiana. Expect them to make light work of the Timberwolves. Both teams are playing on a back-to-back.
Orlando are playing a B2B as well but they do play the Lakers.
Washington are an improved team and their clash with Portland will be a good one. Expect it to be high scoring and a juicy fantasy game.
Kristaps Porzingis was limited in practise on Monday and looks a risky early play.
We expect DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry to feast on the Brooklyn Nets although Lopez should follow the lead of Dwight Howard on Sunday and have himself a night against Jonas Valančiūnas.

Players to consider
Point Guard
Elfrid Payton (Orlando) $5,300
Possibly the player with the best match-up on the whole card tonight. The Lakers have been leaking fantasy points like a sieve all season long and Elfrid even though he’s coming off a back-to-back looks a solid play today. He’ll play 30 minutes and has scored 25+ fantasy points in four of his last five games. He’s a sound play tonight at Point Guard.
Shooting Guard
DeMar DeRozan (Toronto) $9,000
It looks a tough night to spend money to be honest and out of the top picks he shapes up well. Brooklyn are weak defensively at the guard and wing spots and after a tough Sunday guarding James Harden, DeRozan will be ready to feast. He has only scored below 34 fantasy points just once in seven games and he looks a solid play to build a team around today.

Small Forward
Bojan Bogdanovic (Brooklyn) $3,700
Happy to give the Bojie Man another chance here against the Brooklyn Nets division rival Raptors. The match-up is tricky on raw stats but we do feel it’s going to be easier for him to score than it will be the guards (Sloan, Ellington and Larkin) who are going head to head against a quality Raptors backcourt in Lowry and DeRozan. Bojan should play 30+ minutes tonight and apart from the rough night in Minnesota he’s been a solid Nets offensive option. Still dirt cheap and on a lean night at Small Forward you could do much worse than start him.
Power Forward
Julius Randle (Los Angeles Lakers) $6,400
Randle is still making plenty of mistakes on the court and getting frustrated from time to time but his fantasy production is gaining consistency. He has a great matchup against a Power Forward who is technically undersized in Aaron Gordon today and has a great chance to crack x5 production. It’s a tricky night at this position and he was one of few value plays that stood out.
Centre
Rudy Gobert (Utah) $6,900
Tonight we like spreading exposure around at the centre position with no clear standouts. Gobert will feature in these lineups projected for 35 minutes at home vs Atlanta. It’s a great matchup for him and looking for him to continue with his recent form with a 5x production night.
