Fresh from Fantasy Stars: Our Moneyball NBA thoughts for Thursday the 10th March.
Overall thoughts on the slate of games
If you are ever going to take the plunge and play a Moneyball NBA contest than Thursday is the day! Huge prize pools and lots of games with your favourite players to pick from.
Tonight Vegas is telling us that Houston and Philadelphia will be a high scoring game, same goes for Cleveland v Sacramento.
The Clippers and Thunder are sure to fill up the stat sheet as well!
Miami are a very good defensive team so it’s no surprise to see their points total the lowest again tonight.
Hassan Whiteside has been sick but looks likely to play tonight as does Matt Barnes who returns off a hamstring strain for the Gasol-less Grizzlies.
Norris Cole, Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk are all game-time decisions. Keep an eye on the injury boards closer to tip.

Players to consider
Point Guard
Mario Chalmers (Memphis) $5,000
If he’s not our play of the day he’s certainly firmly in the conversation! Projecting a stack of minutes against the Celtics tonight. He has delivered x5 production or greater in four of his last five games and we see no reason why they will not continue tonight. Shelvin Mack, Jose Calderon and Jerryd Bayless were other Point Guards high on our ratings you can use to spread exposure tonight.
Shooting Guard
James Harden (Houston) $11,200
He is pricey but his production has been absolutely huge and he will be the cornerstone of our lineups tonight. He’s form is above x5 value which for a guy priced above $11,000 is insane output. The Rockets and 76ers should be a battle of terrible defense tonight and there will be a stack of fantasy points to be gobbled up. Harden scored 63.8 against the 76ers earlier in the season and a repeat performance tonight would be very nice!
Small Forward
Robert Covington (Philadelphia) $5,400
Bobby Cov looks a very sound play at Small Forward tonight. He is a shooter who can also have big rebounding nights which helps to raise his floor and keep his ceiling high if he gets hot from the perimeter. His form is also up above x6 production and the juicy matchup (Rockets have conceded third most points to SF’s this season) make him a lineup must play today.
Power Forward
JaMychal Green (Memphis) $3,500
Green is coming of his best ever NBA fantasy game putting up a huge 48 points (a lazy x13 production!!!) on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The good news is, he’s still priced at the minimum of $3,500. If he scores half of what he did on Monday we will be happy, a nice high ceiling is a massive bonus for tournament play as well.
Centre
Alex Len (Phoenix) $5,900
Len is projecting 34 minutes on our numbers tonight and he’s also got a significant discount compared to the prices on Fanduel ($700) it should be a close game against the New York Knicks who have conceded more points to centres over their last 10 games than was the norm earlier in the season. He might be close to our play of the night and should be in a good chunk of your lineups.
