Fresh from Fantasy Stars: Our Moneyball NBA thoughts for Saturday the 12th March.
Overall thoughts on the slate of games
Huge slate of games today which presents us with plenty of options at all five positions.
Ownership percentages will be spread and it should be a cracking day for some NBA DFS!
Zach Randolph seems unlikely to play today while D-Wade is a game-time decision after missing shootaround earlier this morning.
Utah and Miami games should be typically low scoring while the Rockets v Celtics, Trailblazers v Warriors and Timberwolves v Thunder should all be fantasy gold meets with plenty of points being scored.

Players to consider
Point Guard
E’Twaun Moore (Chicago) $4,000
Great value play today is Moore. With Jimmy Butler out he is basically a lock to play 30+ minutes. He handles the ball enough to get assists and also has the confidence to jack up 10+ FGA’s. He’s coming off games of 27.7 and 34.2 when playing without Butler and that is over x6 production. Gotta play him today in a good chunk of lineups.
**Jose Calderon is another cheap option at guard to consider while Russell Westbrook is our top pick if you want to spend at this position.
Shooting Guard
Lance Stephenson (Memphis) $3,700
Another dirt cheap guard who will benefit greatly from injured teammates. Both Mike Conley and Mario Chalmers are out for the banged up Grizzlies and the 8th Grader will get as much playing time as he can handle tonight. Tough to play against Jrue Holiday who’s in great form but at $3,700 we can handle that! Not only will Lance have playing time tonight he will also have plenty of opportunities to shoot. Lance will relish being an Alpha Dog again and should be played in a stack of your lineups today.
Small Forward
Evan Fournier (Orlando) $4,800
This is a terrific match-up for Fournier tonight in what should be a high-scoring game. Boogie Cousins is suspended so the Kings will push the pace even more to try and get their wings into the game. Fournier has now played three games since returning from injury, he should have his legs back now and the 40 minutes he played against the Lakers is a great sign he’ll get lots of opportunities tonight.
Power Forward
Anthony Davis (New Orleans) $10,500
Be prepared to fork out the cash because today looks a great day for the Brow. The Grizzlies are without Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and likely to be without Zach Randolph as well. Davis will tear them to shreds in the pick and roll tonight. He’s in a rich vein of form averaging 29 points and 12 rebounds per game over his last nine appearances.
**JaMychal Green is the logical player to pair with Davis. His form of 36.2 fantasy points is outstanding considering that he is priced at only $3,700
Centre
Brook Lopez (Brooklyn) $8,900
There hasn’t been many centres in the NBA that have played better than Brook this season. He’s flown under the radar on a very poor Brooklyn team. Philadelphia have given up the most fantasy points at centre all season and Brook will be zoned in tonight. He is a player we invariably always nail and we are confident that he’s locked in for 25 and 8 tonight with a few blocks and hopefully 40+ fantasy points. A key point with Brook is we expect he will have pretty low ownership today so he’s worth playing in a few tournament lineups at the very least.
