It might be AFL Grand Final for the Victorians but it is a feature race day for the New South Welshman. Check out our Group 1 Epsom Handicap Preview below!
TopBetta Fantasy Racing Tournaments continue this Saturday with the feature GPP tournament carrying a juicy $15,000 prize pool.
There is also a stack of other tournaments starting at just $1 to play if you’re looking for a cheap option to get involved.
It’s a huge racing card at Royal Randwick with three Group 1’s headlined by the 1600m Epsom Handicap.
On paper, it’s a very even Epsom Handicap fielder with 11 of the 13 runners within 12 handicap rating points of each other.
The speed doesn’t look likely to be anything crazy with the Gai Waterhouse trained Fabrizio likely to lead and the likes of Sons Of John, Dibayani, Mackintosh and Le Romain some of the horses who’ll do the chasing work.
Palentino comes out of a Group 1 mile at Flemington where he beat the in-form Black Heart Bart in dominant fashion. Fourth-up here he will be peak condition and is $7 in the current markets.
Hauraki ran second to the superstar mare Winx last start and is racing very well whereas Mccreery was dominant over 2000m last start and is looking to follow ex Chris Waller champion horse He’s Your Man’s path to win an Epsom Handicap.
Le Romain is racing well but keeps finding one better while Mackintosh is on the up and has no weight on his back.
Fabrizio is the upstart and only an 83 rater in a field of quality proven horses but looks to have some scope and he’ll make his own luck up on the speed. Happy Clapper has drawn the inside but should improve sharply third-up and he’s been set for this race from a long way out.
