The Wyndham Championship is in the books with Si Woo Kim beating the likes of Luke Donald, Hideki Matsuyama, Rafael Cabrera Bello, Billy Horschel and Brandt Snedeker.
It was a solid DFS week for the team at Fantasy Stars but this week at The Barclays 2016 – the big guns are back and the excitement levels are high as the FedEx Cup playoffs begin.
The big guns? Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Kopeka, Justin Rose, Brandon Grace and Adam Scott will all tee it up after at least a week off.
This field has depth, arguably the best field we’ve seen outside of a major all year long. 122 of the 125 top-ranked golfers in the FedEx Cup standings are playing!
Bethpage Black is a strong test of a golfers prowess, testament to that is the fact the course has hosted a few US Opens over the years.
Par 71, 7468-yard course that should slightly favor the longer hitters. Last years winner Jason Day is the bookies favourite to defend his crown.
Course traits, odds and weather
It’s going to play pretty long and even for the big hitters require lots of 7 and 8 irons in.
The rough isn’t brutal but it’s a test and we’d rather find players who have 170 yard approach shots from the rough as opposed to 200 yard ones!
There is a correlation between good performances here and performances at Torrey Pines in California.
Weather in both Fahrenheit and celsius for the four days below. Keep an eye on the wind forecast that is fluctuating a bit and could play a part.

Brooks Koepka – $10,000
Chance for some low ownership on this bloke who certainly can bomb the ball around and he is in sublime form. Four Top 10s at his last five tour stops. He ranks 6th on tour for birdies made per round and sits in the T50 for sand saves, total driving, greens in regulation and putts per hole. Looks about $2,000 underpriced on FanSports.
Billy Horschel – $7,900
Happy to stick with Billy after a strong showing on the weekend where he looked ready to put in a good performance and did. The more this course shows its teeth the more it will suit him. Expecting low ownership and he is worth including.
DraftKings
Smylie Kaufman – $5,600
A really left-field pick mainly based off the fact he can bomb the ball, make birdies and is just too talented not to fire soon. He did run third in a strong WGC event at Firestone a few months back. He’s worth a low exposure flyer in GPP’s!
JB Holmes – $6,400
Another big hitter of the ball who can make birdies! JB always mixes his form so don’t be too worried about the last three missed cuts, especially considering the courses he played on at Wyndham and Travelers. He ran third at The Open prior to that, 4th at Memorial and 4th at The Masters. He’s another nice GPP option to consider on this course.
