Fresh from Fantasy Stars, our tips, hints and advice for Friday Night AFL DFS!
SUMMARY AND TEAM NEWS
Moneyball’s $5,000 bank (just a $10 entry) is a must!
As we have mentioned before, to win the single slate AFL contests participants need to average a little over 15x per player.
This should be an absolute cracking contest. Number one and two on the AFL Ladder!
Two teams that are different in many ways but are two of the form teams of the competition who play this ground very well. It should be an even contest which means you can spread your players across both teams and play it safe or go for glory and stack a certain side and hope that they reign supreme.
The Western Bulldogs lead the AFL in disposals, averaging a whopping 454.2 per game.
FANTASY STARS PLAYERS TO CONSIDER
FORWARDS
Jarrad Waite (North Melbourne ) $7,800
Waite is priced fairly considering the fantasy damage he has done so far in 2016. He is arguably North Melbourne’s most important player and he has scored 100 fantasy points or more in every game he has played this year. He has also gone over 125 points on three occasions. In what looks to be a high-scoring contest tonight it’s very hard to leave him out!
Tom Campbell (Western Bulldogs) $4,100
We love this pick because we are also playing Jordan Roughead. Between he and Campbell they will handle the Bulldogs ruck duties ensuring we are covered if one of them goes off for a big game. The best news they are both pretty cheap which further reduces our risk. Campbell debuted last week and scored 111 fantasy points and anywhere near a repeat performance tonight will do us just fine.
RUCKS
Jordan Roughhead (Western Bulldogs) $5,800
Roughead is certainly not the player that Goldstein is. He probably isn’t capable of those 120+ scores the Roos ruckman is but he is much better value at just $5,800 compared the premium price of Goldstein at $10,000. We have Roughead projecting around 75 fantasy points tonight which is close enough to x15 production. We see value plays in other places and happy to oppose Goldstein at the price.
MIDS
Jack Ziebell (North Melbourne) $8,300
Ziebell is as hard as a cats head and will relish the chance to play in a high-pressure, high-quality clash tonight. He’s in terrific form having scored above 100 fantasy points in his last three games and he is the pick of the North Melbourne midfielders tonight.
Nick Dal Santo (North Melbourne) $7,000
Dal Santo’s ball use and decision making will be crucial for the Roos tonight and they will do their best to get the ball in his hands forward of centre. After only a steady start to the season he has struck form with two consecutive games with over 114 fantasy points. If tonight turns into a shootout he should be well positioned to rack up the points!
DEFENDERS
Matthew Boyd (Western Bulldogs) $9,000
Boyd is an ultra-consistent player who has scored 94 fantasy points or more in all five of the Bulldogs games so far this season. It’s hard to get that juicy x15 production from the premium options so instead we are looking to lock in guys who consistently deliver scores around that 100 range to form a strong core to our lineup. Matthew Suckling is out tonight and Robert Murphy is obviously sideline for what looks to be all of 2016 making Boyds stock rise even further. He is one of plays of the night and the safest defender on the board.
Marcus Adams (Western Bulldogs) $5,300
Adams has had two quiet weeks but prior to that he delivered two big scores over 100. He’s still priced very fairly at $5,300 and we think that he is the right mix of high floor and high ceiling. He is averaging 86 fantasy points a game which is good for x16 production given his price. Hard to knock!
