Hawks v Bulldogs. It’s AFL semi-final weekend, our Five AFL DFS locks for Finals Week 2 below!
Matthew Boyd – Defender – Western Bulldogs – $9,000
Boyd is a premium defender price wise and for good reason! Just one score below 80 all season long. He’s experienced and is the cool calm head down back for a Bulldogs defense sure to see plenty of ball this Friday night. Pay up and pair him with a few different combos in GPP contests.
Brendan Whitecross – Midfield – Hawthorn – $5,600 (Moneyball)
BW is back in the Hawks best 22 and back playing good football. Despite back-to-back ACL ruptures and bouncing out of the team at times with form issues, he’s played 96 games and is no stranger to the MCG in big games. He played really well against the Cats last week accumulating 22 disposals and eight marks (92 Moneyball points), a repeat effort at the price makes him a nice low ownership midfield option.
Caleb Daniel – Forward – Western Bulldogs – $6,800
Young Daniel is not only a cult hero he’s a quality player. The fact he gets some opportunities up through the midfield help create a nice high floor (only one score below 50 all year). He’s in terrific form and is close to our best play of the weekend at the price of $6,800 with Moneyball.
Lachie Hunter – Midfield – Western Bulldogs – $8,500
We like Hunter out of all of the premium Bulldogs midfield options as he performed the bets against the Hawks last time they met. He’s also slightly underpriced considering his average points per game due to the low-scoring fantasy game he had against Fremantle in Round 22.
James Sicily – Forward – Hawthorn – $5,100
****We are assuming Sicily is named in the squad, if he is, we’ll be pairing him with Daniel as our main exposure play up forward. He booted three goals and collected 87 fantasy points against the Dogs at the start of the season and is coming off a week off. The Hawks will welcome back his class around goal and flair for the contest and at $5,100 he looks a safe bet for a value return.
