Another popular AFL fantasy product many of you will indulge in is the Herald Sun AFL Supercoach. We’ve scoured the most popular Supercoaches through Supercoach Gold and found the players who’s stocks are rising and those who’s stocks seem to be dwindling over the past few weeks
Let’s start with players who for a variety of reasons are attracting the attention of the countries most popular Supercoaches.
HOT
Daniel Wells
Nat Fyfe
Buddy Franklin
Nick Malceski
Dustin Martin
Wells was 20% ownership 10 days ago and now is 28% ownership due to his hot preseason intra club battle. Dustin Martin was dominant in Richmond’s recent preseason hit-out (see highlights above) and Buddy is training the house down and looks super fit. He was at 18% ownership up to 22% two weeks ago and now up to 24%.
Those who were worried about Nat Fyfe’s back recently got some reassurance from Coach Ross Lyon that all will be ok.
“He’s had a full summer and he’s back early so it couldn’t have been too bad,” Lyon said.
“It was blown out of all proportion. We understand why. He’s a very important player, reigning Brownlow medallist. It was a mountain out of a molehill to be honest.”
COLD
Matthew Luenberger
Nathan Freeman
Jarrad McVeigh
Jaeger O’Meara
Gary Ablett
A few of these guys who have gone cold above have had interrupted preseasons and present some risk. Low ownership means they also have higher potential upside. Matthew Luenberger has had well documented injury issues but does figure to get plenty of chances with Essendon. O’Meara sets up on paper to be a good buy, after a stellar rookie year he had what you could say a minor case of the second-year blues. He’s now 21 with 44 AFL games behind him and seemingly set for the mythical ‘breakout year’.
So, do you follow suite and look to include the buzz players in your team as well or are you going for hunting for some more unique options?
