AFL Daily Fantasy Sports – Round 5 Results and Optimal Lineups
Friday night opened with a $5,000 GTD for the Hawthorn vs Adelaide clash. Once again this week the Guaranteed pool got smashed hitting a $6,000 prizepool including a $1,350 1st prize.
‘Caddyburglar’ was the winner with a score of 861. The key to success for the winning side this week was avoiding popular choices Mitchell (86% Owned) and Gibson (48%) while also nailing value choices Puopolo (6%), Lyons (47%) and Seedsman (8%).
The Saturday Slam had a 4 game slate with a $7,000 prizepool. First prize was $1,500 paying down to the 82nd position.
1st prize went to ‘BKochy89’ with a score of 895, this week a much smaller score was needed to win the Slam leaving it open for very evenly structured lineups and over 20% of participants were out of running with the Calen Daniels late out. The winning team went in with an even spread with bot his cheap choice in Menzel and Mills paying off while Selwood (28d, 8m, 6d, 1g) had a massive game vs Port Adelaide and at just the 4.7% owned was enough to be a big enough POD to get ‘Bkocky89’ the win.
Sundays feature tournament was a 2 game slate with Fremantle vs Carlton and Melbourne vs Essendon producing a $6,000 prizepool and $1,350 first prize.
1st prize went to ‘Richozzz’ with a score of 975 and the optimal lineup was a massive 1089 due to some very large performances on the day. Richozzz teams had a mixture of players from all four teams including massive games from the Melbourne combo of Max Gawn and Jack Viney. This team also managed to dodge a lot of popular choices on the day including Fyfe (85%) ownership along with the likes of Houli, Docherty, Ellis and Rance all having quiet days.
Mondays Anzac Day clash featuring Collingwood vs Essendon set was a blowout for both Collingwood and Moneyball prizepools coming in at a cool $10,250 ending up with tied winners collecting $1,430 first prize.
This prize was shared between ‘Abernethy7’ and BeauWaters scoring 983. Both sides managed to avoid the very popular choice in Zach Merrett (78% ownership) who only went at 8x production. There were only 2 players separating the sides with the both nailing the popular Collingwood mids of Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Treloar all paired with Grundy in the ruck and Fasolo up forward. Abernthy7 had the edge finding a nicely under-owned Goddard compared to his opponents choice of Zahararkis. But BeauWaters was able to claw it back with an under-owned selection in the backs of Jeremy Howe producing 90 points at 16x production.
* please note there is a couple of our optimal lineups needing a slight correction bumping up the total score due to incorrect clanger stats.
