The season opened with a $5,000 GTD in the Richmond vs Carlton clash which got blown away with a $6,750 prizepool including a $1,350 1st prize paying down to 144 spots with the winning entry going to ‘Apollo’.
The winning side was very heavily stacked with Blues players and even with Dusty under performing he managed to nail the perfect defensive pairing of Simpson and Docherty along with Gibbs and Murphy starring in the middle was enough for Apollo to get the win.
The Saturday Slam included 3 games on the slate with a $10,000 GTD prizepool. First prize was $2,000 paying down to 120th position with the 1st prize going to ‘Crystal Bros’.
The winning side was stacked with 5 Gold Coast players in there flogging vs Essendon. Dion Prestia, Matthew Stokes and Luke Parker all played massive roles in the win all with under 15% ownership.
Sundays feature tournament was another 3 game slate featuring a $10,000 GTD prizepool. First prize was $2,000 paying down to 120th position with the 1st prize going to ‘Wackywilbur with only 5 points separating the top 4.
The winning lineup of this round had to have the Kennedy (8g, 16m, 25d) and Priddis (43d) combo. Brad Ebert and Elliot Yeo were also very important producing at low ownership levels of 6.6 and 6.8%.
Onto the big clash on Monday we had the Hawks and Cats featuring in a $5,000 GTD which went well over to hit a $8,000 Prizepool. First Prize was $1,650 paying 95 spots with ‘Anarchy121’ producing the goods for the win.
Although Geelong were the winners on the day a semi stacked Hawthorn lineup was enough for the winner to get the job done. This side nailed the premium studs in Dangerfield, Mitchell, Lewis and Gunston and value players in Frawley, Smith and Hartung all played well for there value.
* please note there is a couple of our optimal lineups needing a slight correction bumping up the total score due to incorrect clanger stats.

Moneyball Selections
West Coast eagles will welcome the return of 12 experienced players this week including the long awaited returned of Eric Mackenzie. West Coast backline was decimated with injuries including Mackenzie who missed the whole of the 2015 season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in a practice match against Carlton.
We will also see many DFS relevant guys have their first hit out of the NAB cup including some big names in Gaff, Priddis, Niknat, Hurn and Kennedy.
Gold Coast will take in a very inexperienced side this week and although we expect a belting it is still worth keeping an eye on some of their youngsters. Jesse Lonergan racked up a team-high 23 disposals in his first hitout and Darcy MacPherson showed a lot of promise.
Consider these guys in your Moneyball DFS contests
Defenders
- Jarrod Harbrow – $6,200
- Brad Sheppard – $5,900
- Shannon Hurn – $5,200
Midfielders
- Andrew Gaff – $8,400
- Mitch Hallahan – $6,000
- Aaron Hall – $5,800
- Jesse Lonergan – $4,900
Rucks
- NikNat – $7,200
Forwards
- Josh Kennedy – $7,200
- Jack Martin – $5,400
- Marc Lecras – $6,700
